Pages are up!

Finally!  Google Plus has opened up their pages feature.   Every musician, band, record label, or other business should have a page up and running as soon as possible.  The reason?  When someone sets up a Google Plus profile,  Google reccommends other profiles and pages for them to add to their circles, based on people or businesses they have interacted with.  As your fans join Google Plus (And they will), you want your page to be one of the first ones that they add.   Find out how to set up a page here.

Networking and following on Google Plus

One of the best features about Google Plus is that you can add people to you circles without them adding you back.  This way you can see status updates they make visible to the public, but they won't receive endless updates from people they don't know.  This is great for networking and keeping track of industry insiders.
British Google Plus guru Michael Lee Johnson recently compiled a list of 50 marketing, social networking, and business folks to follow.  You can find the list here, or follow Michael Lee Johnson for more.

Keep your music visible without
annoying your friends

One hard lesson that many musicians have learned on Facebook (And too many haven't yet learned) is that you can't constantly post music videos, new songs, and show dates on your personal page without alienating your real friends.  Since Google + doesn't yet have a way to upload songs, your best bet is to share either a link to your ReverbNation, Soundcloud, or Bandcamp page, or to your best music video.  When you share the link, share it with "Public."          Read the rest
